  • All I know is that Rev. King led me to Christ. For that, I am eternally grateful. "Judge not lest you be judged" has always worked for me.

    Excellent Small Personal Congregation
    by ejhentze--Carl King's wife

People of all walks of life feel welcome here. Neighborhood involvment is frequent and friendly. The local community is very involved in supporting church activities. A bogus criticism written by a man from a different state who has never been to watson terrace was taken down by Poynter Online due to unsubstantiated claims. Come and see for yourself.

    Beware, Stay Away--NO RUN!!!!!

The review by EJHENTZE is hilarious!!! She is Ellen J Hentze the so called wife of Carl King, the pastor of Watson Terrace.

The entire congregation thinks her name is Ellen King, but just ask to see her driver's license or her food certificate in their kitchen. Better yet, call her at Shriner's Hospital to see which name she is currently using.

    Oh by the way, her divorce records are public in Greenville, Il;
and they cite her ex-husband was given a divorce from her on grounds of adultery with Carl King.

Go read some of the crazy things she has done and said, and you will see why you should stay away from this Adam's family pair!!! It's a public record and it's true.

    Pros: None

Cons: Web of Lies, False ordainment certificates on the wall

As the saying goes, "A leopard never changes its spots!"

Now it seems defrocked former Presbyterian minister Carl King, has testified before the court that a buddy of his, Bill Brown, was of good character, an honorable servant of God thereby deserving to be given "Power of Attorney" over a frail unsuspecting woman.

As a result, his buddy was awarded "Power of Attorney" over the family's aged aunt, whereupon he promptly drained the aunt's resources.

    What's with defrocked Presbyterian Ministers?

The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, or SNAP, recently protested outside of a south St. Louis, MO church.
SNAP claims Reverend Carl King of the Watson Terrace Christian Church had inappropriate contact with a mentally challenged congregant.

The group handed out court documents to churchgoers, including a restraining order filed on behalf of the woman.
Reverend King has not been charged with any crime, but SNAP says he was stripped of his Presbyterian ordination for previous misconduct at 1st Presbyterian Church in Greenville, IL.

David Clohessy, SNAP National Director said in many states its illegal for a minister to have a sexual involvement with members of their congregation. He's done it twice, now with a mentally challenged woman who, by no stretch of the imagination, could consent to a sexual involvement.

Snap says they just want the Watson Terrace Church members to know his background. The church refused to comment.

While the Watson Terrace church is a member of the Disciples of Christ denomination, King is not a recognized ordained minister of the denomination, according to the Rev. Penny Ross-Corona, an area minister for the Southeast Gateway Area of the Christian Church.

Each congregation within the Disciples of Christ denomination selects its own pastor, regardless of their ordination, she said. "Because Carl King does not have standing with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we have no authority over him nor do we have any authority over the congregation's decision to employ him," she said in a statement.

King was defrocked by Presbyterian USA in 1992.
