This is a beautiful church full of history. The parish people are also very devoted and work hard to keeping their parish.

This is an amazing church that every Catholic should visit. Built in 1843 before the Civil War, the church is a nearly pristine example of architecture and liturgical design of that time. The high altar is impressive - with over 100 relics of saints - including all 12 apostles. Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, C.Ss.R., an itinerant Redemptorist preacher gave a parish mission here 150 years ago - there is a shrine to Fr. Seelos within the Church. The liturgies are solid - with many traditional touches. The 9 am Sunday is the only "Novus Ordo" Mass said in Latin, facing the high altar, with Gregorian Chant in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. You won't hear better homilies anywhere - given by prominent moral theologian Fr. Brian W. Harrison, O.S. who is frequently featured in Catholic Answers Magazine, and the National Catholic Register.
